Varsity Head Coach
Aloha Boys Basketball!
AHS Boys Basketball Website
Aloha Basketball has 3 summer league teams (Varsity, JV and Freshman) that compete throughout the month of June. These teams are designed for returning high school players or incoming freshmen who wish to participate in the basketball program the following season.
If you have any interest in playing summer basketball please contact Coach Saultz.
Roster space is limited but we want all serious players who are available to participate. We understand June is a busy time and happily share athletes with other sports and other activities. Practices begin the day after Memorial Day with games beginning the first weekend in June and ending by the end of the month.
!update! TUESDAY 12/17/19:
After spending hours on the bus the girls were ready to play their first few games on the road. They had a tough game against Roseburg with an end score was 43-46. The following morning they drove to Grants Pass to compete in another tough game. After multiple attempts to stop the clock and buy time the girls still came out with a loss, this time finishing with a score of 51-56. These close games were a good starting point for the Warriors and allowed them to create a good foundation for the season.
Aloha then hosted an intense game against Jefferson the following Tuesday. They started out strong in the first half taking a lead of 28 points. Jefferson made a comeback in the second half which made for an exciting game as Aloha fought to keep the lead. It was neck to neck but by the end of the fourth quarter the score was 59-53 and Aloha took the win, which would make this the girls first win at home in over two years.
That weekend the girls would have to play in a Newberg tournament. Their first of two games was a tough loss to Newberg; the girls struggled to play all four quarters and didn’t come out strong, allowing Newberg to get a huge lead within the first half. Even after putting up more points in the second half it wasn’t enough to make up for the following quarters and they lost 32-58. After a frustrating loss the girls came back and took an early lead against Sprague and maintained the lead throughout the second half winning with AN overall score of 59-43.
Upcoming Games are:
Tuesday 12/17 home against Sandy
Friday 12/20 home against Reynolds
Swimming Season Officially Starts Mon Nov 18th.
Please have all paperwork and payment into the Athletic Office by that day.
*First Practice: Monday November 18th from 2:45 – 4:30 The first week all practices will be from 2:45 – 4:30 by Friday we will be separating the team for better use of our pool time.)
*You must have all of your paperwork and fees turned in before you can get in the pool - We are a no cut sport so everyone makes the team. Please come prepared to practice once you are cleared by the athletic office – you will need a swim suit (one piece for girls (competition) and Jammers or briefs for boys. We recommend getting at least two for drag in the future and to keep them rotating), goggles and for those with long hair a swim cap (I recommend silicone so that your hair does not rip when taking off) and a full water bottle. One of the best places to get your items at a very reasonable cost is swimoutlet.com; their sporti brand is good and less expensive.
Parent Meeting/Potluck: November 21st @ 6:00pm
We will have a potluck sign up at practice. Please come meet your coaching staff and learn more about the Aloha Family. This is a great time for teammates to bond and parents to meet. We look forward to seeing all of you there.
Team Suit Order Day: Friday November 22nd
You will be able to pay for the team suit online through the student account starting the 15th of November. All swimmers will need to purchase a cap and those that do not have a team suit will need to purchase the suit and cap combination. We have a new design that we will keep for four years. If you care for your suit it can last that entire time you swim.
