VARSITY HEAD COACH: KATY WILSON HARRIS
My name is Katy Wilson Harris, I was born in Kodiak, Alaska, but grew up in Waldport, Ore. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management at Hawaii Pacific, a Master’s in Health Education at Western Oregon, and a Master’s in Teaching at Pacific University.
I cames to Aloha with a background as a standout collegiate athlete and with years of coaching experience at the high school and college levels as well as a teaching background in health and PE. This is my fifth year at Aloha High School as an educator and Varsity Head Coach of Volleyball and Girl's Basketball.
I most recently came from Arizona as a PE teacher and a Varsity Head Men's Basketball Coach, Varsity Head Girl's Volleyball Coach, and Head Track coach who took 2nd in State. Prior to that I was an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at Clackamas Community College (Ore.) and a teacher at PCC for a couple years.
I have a total of 13 years of coaching and teaching experience. Notably, I worked as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at Portland Community College and as the head coach at Lakeridge High School, where I helped turn around a losing program. I also coached basketball, volleyball, and track at Jesuit High School when the program was ranked No. 1.
As a player, I was a four-year varsity, first team all-league, and all-state honoree in volleyball, basketball, and track, and was a Division I recruit in all three sports. I competed at elite levels in three sports over a five-year span in college, including basketball and track at Central Arizona College. My basketball coach there was in the Hall of Fame, Lin Laursen. I later transferred to Hawaii Pacific University, where I played on a nationally ranked volleyball team.
JV HEAD COACH: CORLEONE ASHTON
Hello, I’m Coach Corleone Ashton from Los Angeles, CA. I attended San Jose State University and Los Angeles Trade Tech College where I played basketball. After playing in college I went on to play 4 years of professional basketball in Japan and Mexico! I’ve been personal training & coaching basketball for 12 years now.
My goals at Aloha High School will be to change the culture, create a positive atmosphere and build up the overall self esteem of the program. I’ve always admired my mother most for being the strongest person I know. My outside interest are going to the movies, bowling and playing video games.
